Finding your way around SIUK pages

Introduction

As with many sites, the SIUK site has a number of pages which can be found by following links, though some of the links will take you to other web sites. The site uses Java Script, though that should not be apparent to most users.

The pages are grouped into a number of major sections. The number and content of these may change from time to time. Each of these major sections has an entry that appears on the contents bar, which should always be visible at the top of your browser. Moving the mouse over a contents bar entry shows a 'drop down menu' of more detailed links. Some of these links have further drop down menus. Clicking on the contents bar items with drop down menus will normally take you to the introduction about that group of pages. These sections are described below.

In general, we have deliberately attempted to keep the size of each page fairly small, to avoid loooong download times downloading information you don't want, so you can get at the stuff you do want (which is always at the end!).

Each major section typically has a contents list, which normally appears as the first entry. The contents of the section you are in appears in a list on the left hand side of the page, with all sub entries fully expanded. Making Selections in this will affect the main contents of the page, and is the equivalent of selecting the item from the drop down menu on the contents bar.
