Desc: Akademische Druck-und Verlagsanstalt, Graz; 1978. 13pp plus facsimilie in pocket. (in German)

Desc: Bärenreiter, Basel; 1978. 31pp. (in English and German)
Hilmar # 1549
Notes: A rather disappointing reproduction of the autograph scores of the 3 symphonic fragments in D, which both Deutsch and Brown thought were sketches for a symphony in D, but which have subsequently turned out to be sketches for 3 symphonies, including the 10th, left incomplete at Schubert's death. With an Editorial note by Ernst Hilmar.

Author: Harrow Replicas Title: The Autograph of the Three Masters (Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms)
Desc: Heffer and Sons, Cambridge; 1942. 5pp.
Not in Hilmar
Notes: A rather poor reproduction of the famous manuscript with the autograph of Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms. Beethoven wrote his song Ich liebe dich on the two inner sides. The manuscript subsequently found it's way into Schubert's hands, who used the whole of the first side, and a system of the last, for some sketches of a piano sonata. He then used the rest of the last page for some exercises for a pupil! Schubert subsequently gave the second half of the manuscript to his friend Anselm Hüttenbrenner. Brahms acquired the first half from Schubert's nephew Eduard Schneider in 1872, and the second half from a collector. Having reunited the manuscript, he then signed it, and eventually presented it to the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde.

Author: J. Rigbie Turner Title: Schubert - Erlkönig, Op 1, D328
Desc: Pierpont Morgan Library, 1978. 39pp.
Not in Hilmar
Notes: A nice reproduction of the autograph score of the third version, with an introductory essay by J. Rigbie Turner including notes on the paper and copies of the title and first pages of the first edition, and the first page of the Goethe and Stadler versions. Also has a short bibliography.

Author: Susan Youens Title: Schubert - Winterreise - The Autograph Score
Desc: Pierpont Morgan Library/Dover, 1989. ISBN 0-486-25996-X. 74pp facsimilie, 10 pages of notes. Hilmar # 3799
Hilmar # 3799
Notes: A just about acceptable reproduction of the autograph scores for the two separately composed halves of Winterreise. The first half is a mixture of fair copies and earlier states, the second half is entirely in fair copy. There is an introductory essay and notes on the composition of the work, Robert Winter on the paper details, and so on.
